Take me to the woods

31 October 2013

Seriously want to go to the woods in this cozy outfit. Some of these photos create the illusion that I was somewhere remote, but alas I was still just in my East Village Neighborhood. Magical yes, but boy do I need to escape from the city. I am dying to lose myself in the wilderness. Must plan a get-away soon.

Anyway, hope you all are having a fantastic day! Oh and of course Happy Halloween :)

Dapper Days

30 October 2013

Feeling quite dapper in this get-up I wore yesterday. I pulled this bow from one of my old, but very dear vintage tops and paired it with this ASOS blouse. It's so fun mixing and matching the old and the new in one's closet. I'm all about re-mixing pieces. Anyway, I was wandering around with Christina when we ran into this beautiful church right in our neighborhood. I love the gothic feel of the building... so wonderfully spooky.

Anyway, hope you all are having a great mid-week!

Must be the season of the witch

29 October 2013

Feeling quite witch-y in today's post. I suppose it is quite fitting considering it is Halloween Week. There is something I cannot resist about a cape. I'm pretty much obsessed with this one from Kenneth Cole. Such a great statement piece... I am very much in love!

Anyway, I hope you all are having a fantastic Tuesday!

Shades of Autumn

28 October 2013

And finally the leaves are starting to change colors. Everyday I walk outside it feels more and more like fall! Making a trip upstate this weekend just to soak in all the beauty. Soon the tree limbs will be bare, but no less spectacular in my opinion. Can't wait to update you all on my adventures!

Hope you are having a lovely day.

MJ Honey Spots

24 October 2013

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed these cute little butterflies appearing in some of my photos, with the hashtag #MJhoneySpots . Now I can finally reveal that I have partnered with Marc Jacobs in honor of their new fragrance Honey and in celebration I have shared my favorite spots in my dear city, New York. Amongst these places I hold dear to my heart include:

1.)         The New York Public Library… I could spend hours browsing the thousands of books this building holds. So fascinating to me!
2.)         The Brooklyn Flea… Heading over to Brooklyn to check out the lovely vintage at their flea market is a favorite weekend past-time. You never know the treasures you will find.
3.)         Washington Square Park… I absolutely love this park that is located right in the middle of the bustling downtown scene. It is so relaxing and the people watching is perfect.
4.)         Mudspot Café… Located right in the heart of the East Village, this café serves the best cup of coffee in NYC.
5.)         Van Leeuwen’s … Seriously the best ice cream in the city. With flavors like earl grey tea and vanilla bourbon, I simply cannot resist this sweet treat

So with that being said, I want to encourage you all to hashtag #MJHONEYSPOTS and submit your own photos of favorite places that mean something special to you. It’s such a fun way to see what everyone around the world’s favorite places are! Check out more at the website here.

Like a Boy

23 October 2013

Feeling quite boyish in this pair of rugged denim, classic striped sweater and loafers. As femme as I am, it is quite fun to be androgynous sometimes. It's always nice to mix it up. Anyway, I hope you all are having a lovely weed so far!

East Village Stroll

21 October 2013

This weekend was possibly one of the most relaxing ones I have had in a long while. Spent a lot of time being cozy at home/hanging around my neighborhood, the East Village. Anyway, this Free People coat has quickly become a favorite of mine this year. I love the color palette and the vintage vibes that this coat embodies.  Most likely I will be over-wearing this coat during this winter/fall but I'm honestly too smitten to care.

Hope you all are having a lovely monday!

Refinery 29 x Timberland Feature

16 October 2013

I am so excited to share this feature with you all that I did with Refinery 29 and Timberland boots. I've always been a fan of Timberland's classic/cozy boot styles so of course I jumped at the opportunity for a collaboration. For the shoot we romped around some of my favorite spots in the East Village. Love these lace-up boots... quality + style + comfy. All the things I look for in a city-stompin' boot!

Anyway, check out the feature here!

Brooklyn Waterfront

14 October 2013

One of my favorite parts about this city is that it is right on the water. Sometimes I forget when I am getting lost in the urban jungle that is Manhattan, but anytime I am feeling overwhelmed, I just head over to the water for some solace.

Anyway, I hope you all are having a lovely Monday!

Cherry Bomb

10 October 2013

Over the years red has really become a staple color in my wardrobe. Naturally, I just couldn't resist this bold cherry red dress. It's so perfect for the holidays that I am sure will be sneaking up on us quicker than we can imagine. Plus I just love how full the skirt is. So adorable!

Hope you all are having a lovely Thursday.

Boyish Blues

07 October 2013

And another Monday rears it's head again. The weekends go by oh-so-fast these days. I'm kicking off this gloomy NYC day with a menswear-ispired look... suspenders, over-size jeans, loafers and all. I have a feeling I'll be rocking these jeans quite a bit this fall.

Anyway...hope you are all having a great start to your week so far!

Fall florals are such a go-to for a gal like me. Brightens up any gloomy day... in my opinion they are meant for all-year-round!
